Donna Stepaniak, a resident’s daughter, ready to make popcorn

On Sept. 5, 2017, Garden Terrace at Overland Park, Kansas, continued its seven-year tradition of Alzheimer’s fundraising with a Carnival to End Alzheimer’s.

Residents and their families, as well as associates and their families, came out to the event. The facility served popcorn, cotton candy, hot dogs, chips and soda, and guests could also participate in a cake walk, a bowling game and a photo booth. Kids and adults alike also enjoyed face painting and a balloon artist.

“We were able to raise approximately $1,200,” said Christianna Smith, admissions director at Garden Terrace. “This money helped us reach our overall goal of $8,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association.”

The facility has now raised more than $11,000.
